Last week, some dude named Jesse Braham (stage name: Jesse Graham) tried suing Queen Taylor Swift for $42 Million, claiming that she stole the lyrics of her hit ‘Shake It Off’ from his song ‘Haters Gone Hate’.
It was a pretty ridiculous claim because the two songs sound completely different.
Judge Gail Standish of the U.S. Central District Court in California turned out to be a Swifty and dismissed the lawsuit in the best way possible… using Queen Swift’s lyrics.
“At present, the Court is not saying that Brahman can never, ever, ever get his case back in court, but, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Brahman can solve them. As currently drafted, the complaint has a blank space, one that requires Brahman to do more than write his name… Brahman may discover that mere pleading Band-Aids will not fix the bullet holes in this case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.”
