Maren Morris has been named the honorary chairwoman of the Texas Music Project, which is a non-profit organisation that was set up to encourage, promote, and advance music education in her home state of Texas.
Morris actually took part in a songwriting camp that they organised back when she was 16, so it obviously works! She said,
“Education, songwriting, Texas, you blend those all together and that’s what the heart of me is and so to be the honorary chairman is really incredible. I like to represent Texas in any way, shape or form that I can, so this is a huge honour.”
She takes over from previous chairman Willie Nelson.
Couldn’t think of anyone better. Congratulations!
